Artist Statement:
Hello and Welcome!
My name is Nicola Lupoli, and
I am an Artist from Boston Ma.
I have been an Artist all my
life having grown up in a
family of Artists and Art
lovers.
Primarily self taught, my
greatest influences are my
late Artist brother Domenic
and studying the paintings and
styles of the Old Masters.
My primary interest is in the
area of portraiture. For me
nothing captures the essence
of the spirit like a portrait;
it can be very challenging to
execute but very rewarding
when it finally comes
together. I love the way a
portrait captures a moment in
the life of the subject and
perhaps makes you wonder about
them, who they are or were and
what that person was about. I
hope that when I produce a
portrait it is more than just
a static image but causes the
observer to wonder about the
subject and feel something of
their spirit and emotion.
The medium I prefer to work in
is oil, I love the richness
and the qualities that it
produces I think it is
particularly well suited to
the kind of work that I do.
