Artist Statement for Luqman Atif

|
I strive to create visual intrigue, fun and fascination whenever the opportunity presents itself. I believe that art is inherent in all things, and only needs to be observed to be experienced. I am excited by art that is strong and gentle; intense and relaxed; real and unreal. As an artist, I am compelled to push my visions through the holes that artist before me have left open. I am inspired, motivated and determined to unveil my personal vision, and find my rightful place in our ever-expanding world of the senses.
My work is identifiably my own. It is essential that my creations be a reflection of my moments in time. With every picture, there is a purpose behind the color selection and theme. As you will see, color is at the heart of my work.
One is sure to find the musings of youthful reverie in my work. My aesthetic sense is to saturate the surfaces of canvas and wood with shapes of color. My art includes abstract and symbolic portraits, profiles, and landscapes of the world's people, places, and things.
