| Why Did You Become An Artist |
Lynn Smythe is a 1985 graduate of the University of Rochester where she obtained her bachelor's degree in Geology. Lynn has also taken college level astronomy, botany and accounting classes. After moving to SE Florida she briefly worked as an Environmentalist for the Palm Beach County Department of Environmental Resources Management.
Approximately 12 years ago, while pregnant with her daughter, she innocently went to a local craft store and bought a few dollars worth of beads and proceeded to make some really ugly beaded Christmas ornaments. Luckily for the bead world, and her friends and family who received those ornaments for presents that first year, her true artistic ability asserted itself with a natural talent for designing one-of-a-kind beaded jewelry and accessories.

| Your Personal Biography |
A self taught craft artisan, Lynn now offers a variety of her fused glass beads, pendants and cabochons for sale to select galleries and gift shops. A selection of her one-of-a-kind beaded jewelry and fused glass plates, bowls and vases have recently been added to her ever growing line of unique jewelry, gifts and accessories.
Lynn's past creative endeavours have included owning a bead store, writing articles for various craft magazines and teaching classes in seed bead techniques, macrame and fused glass. She has worked in the mediums of bead weaving, fiberarts, altered art, precious metal clay and fused glass. She is currently focusing her artistic ventures on one-of-a-kind fused glass jewelry pieces.
Lynn's artist studio has undergone an expansion in recent months. The purchase of a glass grinder, diamond band saw and a large digital controlled kiln will enable her to create larger fused glass pieces such as plates, bowls and vases. Lynn currently resides in Florida with her husband, son and daughter.
Lynn is a member of the PMC Guild, Glass Art Society and the American Craft Council. Photographs of a select few of Lynn's one-of-a-kind beaded jewelry pieces featuring her fused glass cabochons can be viewed on the Glass Artists website. Her online Glass Artists gallery is located at www.glassartists.org/lynnsmythe.
Lynn has recently become a Level 1 Certified Art Clay Silver instructor. Classes for up to 6 students per session can be taught at her studio which is located in Delray Beach, Florida.
