Artist Statement for Marion De Souza
|

|
I live in Croydon, Surrey, in the United Kingdom. For the past few years I have become interested in Digital Photography. I really like going out and about photographing flowers, mostly taken from other peoples' gardens! Also, from parks and open spaces. With the photos I design and create cards. I feel having a real photo flower on a card, as opposed to 'clip art', makes the card look more authentic and beautiful.
Over the last two years I have progressed to 'flower manipulation' design on my Computer using the flower photos I have stored there.
This is the Art work I am showing in my Portfolio.
I also paint, mostly in acrylic,poster and charcoal.
I do not have a degree in Art! but I completed seven Computer courses at our local College. I do belong to a Art Group which I attend once a fortnight. The Art Group Exhibits their Art once a year in which they display and sale their work. I have sold several pieces of my Art work there. I would like to take a course in Web Design sometime.
