Overview
I left the corporate world many years ago to find my roots relocating to the mountains of North Carolina. There among the serenity and natural surroundings, I found the beginning of a new journey. Although I was never encouraged to pursue my artistic interests in my formative years, I was however, introduced to the fine arts as a young boy in New York City watching my father, a master four-color process plate engraver, mannually create faithfully true reproduction plates of the world's greatest masters on behalf of Park Bennet Galleries (Christy's/Sotheby's).
Since that time, I have studied in the US and Europe under modern masters of Spain, Italy, the Royal Society of the Arts, London and the National Academy School of Fine Arts in New York. In addition to my exhibitions and private showings, I founded Poet's Eye Studio in 1996 and now teach sculpture privately and am affiliated as an instructor at the Asheville Art Mueum, at AB Tech College and a member of the National Sculpture Society.
My work, which includes sculpture in various media (stone, marble, bronze, metals and ceramic), evokes images of classical and contemporary themes expressed as figurative, impressionistic and abstract, embodying an energy that one connect to.
Vision
My artistic vision is to tap into the unconscious and focus on the value of an image dependent not on the accuracy of its representation, but rather on its capacity to express an inherent order of art that relies on internal responses to the external world.
