Artist Statement for Bev Haring

|
Just about anything can be the inspiration for my work. Living in the moment and seeing the design possibilities in nature, architecture and other art forms provides an endless source of ideas to be interpreted.
I am a self taught artist. Since I was very young I have enjoyed working with my hands, to me there was nothing better than that next bigger box of crayons.
After 30 years in corporate jobs, I am happy to have returned to the pleasures of creating new things with new materials that present themselves.
I refer to my work as "painting with beads" and "art to wear".
As I grow in my craftsmanship and explore new materials and techniques, I continue to create diverse one of a kind pieces. I say with pride that my pieces are all created in my studio with my own hands.
