Artist Statement:
Born in Ipswich in 1974, Marc
has always enjoyed spending
time in the countryside. He
went on to study Environmental
Conservation in 1990. Although
he produces different types of
image, his first love is with
landscape photography.
As well as selling prints Marc
also works with publishers and
has most recently provided an
image for "Lore of the Land" a
book published by Penguin.
Marc has also had images
featured in national camera
magazines. At present Marc is
represented by four UK based
agencies.
"I enjoy the challanges that
landscape photography
provides. Unlike working in a
studio where you have full
control of your lighting, when
capturing landscape the
ambient lighting is in the
hands of mother nature."
"Although Suffolk and East
Anglia is largly a rural area,
because of the geography and
geology it is not graced with
the kind of landscapes you see
in the classic photos,
mountains, valleys and rocky
coastlines. As such you have
to work hard to get the most
from the landscape. The flat
nature of the region means
that the sky features heavily
in the work you produce, a
good cloudscape helps to add
height and interest to an
image".
