I like to capture an essence
of the person I'm drawing and

important as are the air,
light, environment. That
information you gather just
being with another person on
the non-verbal level over
time. That knowledge added to
paint, color, texture, dark
and light, pattern and shape
and lines all help me convey a
whole portrait of someone's
intangible qualities.
