Artist Statement:
Still life is the subject
matter of Marco Gasparri's
paintings. The most frequently
depicted objects in his
compositions are ordinary
things like bottles, fruit,
vegetables and shells, but
also old discarded things such
as pots, jars or jugs.
His way of painting is derived
from the techniques of old
masters that, together with
his artistic ability, allow
him to paint the objects up to
the minute details. Marco
Gasparri's painting is like a
visual world, as rich and
expressive as a language, in
which the choice of the
objects is not accidental but
carefully composed according
to their colour, shape, past
and meaning.
He prefers to paint from life
with natural daylight aiming
to achieve in his still lives
an ideal harmony. The viewer
will surely enjoy, especially
at short distance, the
harmonious plasticity and
richness of details that he
can see in his paintings.

Marco Gasparri is graduated at
the State Institute of Art in
Pisa and the Academy of Fine
Arts in Florence, Italy.
