Artist Statement for Marie Weaver

I’m interested in these things: our sense of place, and moments of change or sudden awareness. In looking closely at such things, I feel connected to the secrets of the world. Frequently birds appear in my work as a metaphor for the spirit but also as harbingers of danger or models of adaptability.
