Welcome to Marijke Coulars's Portfolio.
My current body of artwork deals with my experiences, both on a personal level and as perceived in others, the sensation of feeling trapped and finding ways to transcend the confines of structure.
I am constantly exploring the edges of the box's framework, sensing what lies beyond, exploring the freedom there as symbolized by a bird in flight, and then feeling pulled back once again.
It does not matter how hard I try to free myself, when the night comes i find myself still in a box unable to escape.
