| Your Personal Biography |
Mary Harnett is a Fine Artist, a painter, who works and maintains a studio in
Ft. Collins, Colorado. Mary’s formal artistic training started as a teenager at the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco; she holds a B.F.A. in Drawing & Painting from the California College of Arts & Crafts and a M.S. M. from Regis University. For the past four years she has had the privilege of being a full time artist. Her career has included stints as a technical illustrator, an archaeologist, a land surveyor, a civil design engineer, and land manager. These experiences have been the inspiration and driving force for her paintings and drawings throughout her life.
She is a skilled watercolorist and has been studying oil painting for the past four years. Her work is represented in public and private collections in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, and New York. She teaches watercolor painting to adults, volunteers teaching art in the 8th Judicial District Juvenile Drug Court, and is the former Director of the Colorado Coalition of Artists (2006), a non-profit artists’ coop in Ft. Collins, Colorado. She currently shows her work in galleries in Fort Collins & Loveland Colorado as well as on the World Wide Web, has released 8 Limited Edition Prints in the past two years, and is pursuing painting as a full time, sustaining career.
