Artist Statement for Stacy Bottoms

I have to agree with Edward Hopper who said,
"If I could say it in words, there would be no reason to paint".
I love the entire process of painting. For me it is like telling a story about how the subject matter wants to be told. My style is realism and my subject matter is often a landscape that reminds me of the farmland I grew up on or a place that I've visited. A landscape can tell you much more than the time of day.The farm I grew up on also had old cars resting from the 30's and 40's and I used to imagine the people and places they saw. That's why I love automotive fine art. Because art has been such a blessing in my life, I also enjoy painting Christian art.
