The Line ,Colour & Composition in Sir Matthew`s art-work
Matthew Thompson`s painting is the result of a process of the ``painting simplification`` which tends to be reduced to its essential elements : line,colour & composition. Departing from these elements he has built his own universe in which the objects don`t appear as they are in nature, but as very simple signs of his inside universe.There are often lines which act as unifying elements of the object`s diversity which constitute a variety of plots between different forms that permit to express - ``the feeling in the artist`s microcosm``. His paintings constitute an authentic calligraphy . The composition is basically intuitive & it resorts to the tectonic equilibrium between lines & marks of colour.The plastic power of his ``unique & creative`` paintings , resides in the liveliness of colours - typical of the painter`s sensitiveness.
