| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I do not think art as a rationalization of an artistic thought or perhaps i´m still not able to think this way.
What fascinates me is the exercise of art, doing something that can express my personal view of the things and the perception and the expression of the world as i see. anything that carries human significance may cause me an emotion with same intensity that I see any museum in the world and art for me is an emotional and intellectual product
Since my late starting in arts i´ve been sculpting my way in the artistic scenario with a differenced curiosity and thus my overture to this environment gives me a privileged position.
Doubts no doubt will arise, as my works my transit between the formalism and the concept, between the beautiful and the political in art.
But this doubt pertains more to the one who sees then to the one who makes. What I want to say is that I try to be an Italian of the form and/or a naturally politized German, some times with my abstract sculptures in iron or wood sometimes with my objects carrying social political irony.
Maybe I want to go further than the cultural concepts – not that I pay much attention to it - but perhaps one day appreciating from outside I may see a chance to be inside thus contributing in a certain way to this world

| Your Personal Biography |
I was born in Dec. 21, 1946 but started my artistic career in the late 2006, after a period of 30 years as an executive in steel industry and some years devoted to the environmental issues.
During my childhood the contacts with art were scarce and the meeting only took place later in my youth as a consequence of various artistic contacts in Ouro Preto, the Brazilian baroque town (patrimony of humanity).
In 1966 I opted for the Engineering School with a particular interest in Maths, economy, environment , literature and foreign languages.
For a short period I’ve interrupted the course for a scholarship in the United States returning to assume administration activities with my family, which later on resulted in a career devoted to entrepreneurial activities, as an executive, entrepreneur, consultant and speaker. Several trips in Brazil and abroad allowed me the opportunity to visit galleries and museums and from 2006 on I started to attend art classes at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora aside of new approaches to local artists. The environmental issues are mostly present in my works in a clear reference of my last professional work previous to art.
