Artist Statement:
"The reason I paint is simply
because I love the act of
painting itself. It is
important to me that my art
has a positive quality and
brings pleasure to the
viewer." – Amie McCarron
After developing a love of
painting in early 2004, Amie
decided to leave a successful
corporate career to pursue
her dream of becoming a
full-time contemporary artist.
Primarily self-taught, Amie
has attended numerous painting
workshops allowing her to
discover and express her own
unique style.
Amie paints intuitively
preferring deep rich colours
to create pieces that exude
warmth and create a sense of
calm, serenity and romance.
Her style shows versatility
and has an exploratory feel as
she produces contemporary art
works incorporating elements
of nature or the female form.
Amie’s preferred medium is
acrylics on stretched canvas
frames that she makes herself
using high quality materials
designed to last.
Amie’s work is held in private
collections across NZ and the
UK and can also be found in
art events and galleries
across New Zealand. Amie
accepts commissions and
invites people to contact her
