Artist Statement for Peter Mccarthy

Most of my paintings are influenced by the environment directly around me. I tend to paint objects, houses, trees and landscapes which show an isolated stillness. I feel I am subconsciously reflecting the mood of painting,working alone and this feeling appears in a lot of my work.
