Artist Statement:
Arunas Mecius,(pronounced as
Mechus) born in 1965,26th of
March in Klaipeda city
(Lithuania) to Antanas and
Zita,attended the 19-th
Secondary School in
Klaipeda.In 1983-1985 he
served compulsory term in the
Soviet Army.Upon returning
from the army,Arunas studied
at a fine crafts trade school
where he received a decorator
degree.He further improved his
skills in the field by working
at ELFA,at electromechanical
plant.In pursuit of higher
education,in 1990 Arunas
entered the Siauliai
Pedagogical Institute
(Lithuania).He went on to
study at the Vilnius Academy
of Arts and graduated from it
in 1997 with a Master's degree
in fine arts.Presently,Arunas
teaches painting and graphics
at the Klaipeda Children
School of Arts.Arunas has been
a member of the Lithuanian
Artists’ Association since
2002.The Certificate for
professional artist
number:1443.

2000 - personal exhibition at
the Klaipeda Artist's Club
(Lithuania).
