Artist Statement:
I typically work in the
abstract. Influenced heavily
by Abstract Expressionists
(Still, Kline, De Kooning,
etc). Primary medium is oil
on canvas, but also do works
on paper (watercolor,
charcoal. acrylic). I also
experiment with some
unconventional materials as
well.
My works are usually initiated
through automatism, with no
pre-defined 'goal' in mind.
The work may then be refined
on a more conceptual basis.
My aim is to express the
primordial self (whether
conscious or unconscious) as
opposed to represent actual
images or events.
I grew up in Minnesota, and
live and work in the Twin
Cities of Minneapolis/St.
Paul....
