Artist Statement for Michael Montgomery

|
One of the main aspects of art I believe is contrast,whether it's between different mediums,points of view or even whats real and whats not.I try through my photography to explore this idea of contrast,particularly between such things as light and darkness,physical beauty and the total blankness or melancholy of the surroundings.Just one of the ideas I hope to show through my work is that no matter what dark moods and oppressive things surround us,beauty is a constant and will never be changed or altered by them.
