-Berkeley Art Center 2002. Member's Annual Showcase {Berkeley,CA}.Jan 10 to Feb. 9. My painting "Barren Land".
-More paintings participated also in several local, regional and national competitions, including the 19th. Annual 2002 Art Competition sponsored by the Artist's, a contest at the Islip Museum, and the Huntington Wechschler Art Museum....
-The private collectors prefer to remain anonymous at the present time.
-The Juried Art Show at the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library by the Nassau County Museum of Art. Feb 25 through April 25. 2002. Painting: Troisieme Age, chosen unanimously by the curatorial Staff of the Nassau County Museum of Art and exhibited.
-The 2002 National Juried Photography Competition at the Chelsea Center . Northern Boulevard, East Norwich, NY April 3 to April 19, 2002. organized by the Long Island Partnership for Cultural Development. The photo "Athens at night" was chosen and displayed . That particular photo was taken in Athens in 1967. I also realized with it an animation
-The painting "Petit Gingerbread" was sold at auction in Nevada for the benefit of the blind children of Haiti.
-My digital art piece, entitled "Peace" is being internet-auctioned by Spain's Stylus Art. Additional pieces: Pot-pourri,Reverberation,
Faucille, etc.as well as an article in French were sent to stylusart.
-A special edition of 5 prints by the artist and signed by the artist is being sold at auction in favor of deaft children at the Bethpage Casino.
- Michel's Video Productions just shot from Nov. 2001 through June 2002 five documentary videos:
1. A Stroll through Manhattan (1hr 40 min) part of Videos New York 2002
2.Ecclesiales (1hr.20 min.)
3.Walt Whitman. A documentary (1hr. 20 min.)
4.Primitive Surrealism of Total Art(2 hrs.)
5. On Long Island (2 hrs.)
They have been edited.
At this date of February 19/2003, over 150 videos of all lengths (short, medium and/or long) were shot and edited and can be ordered from the Film-Makers Cooperative in Manhattan by visiting their rental catalog-on-line at www.film-makerscoop.com, a branch of the Museum of Modern Art.
-Michel's Video Studio has created new films, especially on his art discoveries, including Primitive Surrealism of Total Art, The so-called New Art and Spontaneism, Doret's latest art discovery. More titles from his N.Y.art and video studios are being programmed and scheduled to be available especially on DVD form as early as September 2003. Those films can still be seen on Long Island Nassau County Public Access Chanel 20 where Michel's Video Studio has been regularly showing at least 4 new films every month in his fixed hour program of Thursdays night at 10:30 pm. until September 2003. So far, over 30 films have been presented.
The Studio is in the process of submitting to Festivals worldwide its documentaries as well as its narrative and experimental scenarii, etc..
Tentative project: a narrative full-length feature for the end of the year.

Almost ten years ago, while living in the Pays de Gex, France, Artist Michel Doret discovered a new art philosophy that he called
PRIMITIVE SURREALISM OF TOTAL ART.
Back in the United States, he continued developing that new audio-visual approach of artistic expression, while producing an important collection of art works to define and illustrate several aspects of it in local and international virtual galleries.
In the process, his artistic experiments led him to a new discovery: the so-called NEW ART , an important style based on the use of digital manipulation. Several exhibits on Long Island throughout the year 2002 - especially the Summer - allowed him to present his research to the art community.
Today, while still promoting the two initial collections, he proposes a new art theory: SPONTANEISM. His February display at the Lynbrook High School Art Gallery was the first gallery presentation of Spontaneist Art. New exhibits will show again Spontaneism, including the two months on-going exhibit at the Uniondale Public Library on Long Island. Shown in Doret’s videos, illustrative paintings of that recent innovative art technique had not so far been presented anywhere in the world.
