My intention in serving as the conduit to create these paintings is to add color to everyone’s life, and that the images that appear (of their own accord) will cause them to take a few moments to breathe deeply to gain a moment of peace.

My paintings can have significant impact on a person’s life. I say this not because I painted them but because of the manner in which they are created. All paintings are Spiritually guided. I use no brushes, no knives or other tools. It’s all about the paint and canvas doing their thing.

The energy of the colors sets off a tone that resonates with the person viewing the canvas. As they begin to see the subtle images the vibration of both the viewer and the painting increase and they connect. Their heart opens and they know, without a doubt, that it has significant meaning to them.

Why Did You Become An Artist I've always created, in one form or another. Painting was one of those 'someday' I'll do that on my list of future 'want to do'.

A friend in 1971 handed me a canvas panel, brush and tube of paint with the order: "Paint". My expression was that of a deer caught in the headlights! Once recovering from this shock I took several classes with world-famed colorist, now deceased, Gustav Likan. And later several other Austin artists to learn different techniques.

In 1983 I opened my own Marketing, Advertising & Public Relations firm so painting was set aside. The business was closed in 2001 so out came the brushes. And I started to paint but the old subject matter of landscape, seascape, still life had little interest. 'Been there, done that'. What I really, really wanted to learn was pallet knife because of the broad powerful strokes. Instead ... the thought of 'why not thin the paint and see what happens'.
This opened up a whole new universe, and what I call Surrealistic Abstract Paintings were born.

This technique continued to evolve into my Luminescence Series of paintings. Without using any brushes, knives or other artist tools, these amazing images just tease your imagination. Some people see 'feathers', some 'leaves', some see branches and trees, and some see underwater coral.

The pure colors certainly attract attention and once you spend a little time looking at the paintings through relaxed eyes images begin to appear. I do not plan, nor do I paint these images. They come into being through the interaction of Spirit, the paint and canvas. I am merely the conduit to apply the paint.

When a painting is finished I put it on a rack to dry. The next day I check on it ... and the paint has continued to move!

No one is more amazed than me. I hope you will be amazed as well. I would appreciate your sharing your comments with me.
