Artist Statement:
Miguel Cortez is a visual artist of mexican origin and has resided in Chicago since the age of 8. He has studied at the School of the Art Instituteof Chicago, and since 1990 has dedicated himself to painting professionally, and exhibited his work throughout Chicago and Mexico. His current work reflects ideas from the subconscious which turn out to be very abstract yet one can imagine the forms to be either a close up of something microscopic or an areal view of an imaginary lanscape.
