Inspired by 30years livingand working on theNorthumberland coast in England and now in the Wilds of Redesdale near the Scottish borders.Fascinatedby patterns of sand on the beach,piles of seaweed/driftwood order and chaos together. Images I create use a wide variety of materials, sand soil,coaldust,driftwoodare often embedded in paint surface. I wand paintingsto be as natural as possible. Rarly use brush but finger,knife,trowel,sand ,plaster,spray paints plus lots of builders materials to create impasto paint surfaces. Experimenting with Holographic Foils in paint to simulate wonderful lightin Northumberland. Moving to Redesdale I have been inspired and become aware of the interaction of man and nature,in the Otterburn Army Ranges military roads,bunkers and old tanks contrast with wild crags,quarries,moorland and forest to create wonderful tapestry at different times of year. Rock strata,stange cloud formations,moody sunsets,reflections in riversand lakes all have me rushing for camera or sketchbook."The Land of Far Horizons" Northumberland has lightwhich enhances the tactile quality of the Landscape no matter whatthe season.
