Artist Statement:
My career includes 35 years
teaching art in US Public
Schools with the primary
emphasis in high school in
drawing, design, painting, art
history and crafts, such as
pottery, etc.
The particular focus of my
work has gradually settled
into painting in acrylic.
Always an experiment in
expression relative to a
place, an experience, or a
sensation associated with an
event, my work has a definite
illustrative flavor due in
large measure to the years of
teaching drawing with basic
emphasis on personal visual
acuity.
As an adopted credo I
consciously ascribe to Paul
Klee's statement: "Art does
not reproduce the visible,
rather it makes visible."
