Artist Statement for Mildred Chapin
|
|
|
I consider that my work as an artist has to do with expressing the ineffable in ways that can communicate to people. This may have to do with unspoken yearnings, with ideas about the beautiful, or with other spiritual, religious or intellectual ideas that can not adequately be put into words. My hope is to foster images, feelings, or thoughts in the viewer that will either confirm some of these unspoken feelings or suggest new ways of seeing what they alrady know.
