Artist Statement:
Painting for me is a means of
creating, of experimenting and
exploring different media.
Having lived in the UK, US and
India, I feel that my art is a
blend of the East and the West
and reflects my own
individuality . Since I first
delved into the world of art
20 years ago with a watercolor
class in the US, I have
evolved as an artist. I no
longer stick to conventional
methods and techniques that
have been taught to me through
the years but create whatever
my mind has in store for me.
All of my paintings result
from my ongoing inner search
for spirituality. It is a path
that began with yoga,
meditation, subsequent lessons
in Sanskrit and the philosophy
of the Gita. I have not yet
come close to attaining any
true fulfillment in that area,
but through my art, and in
particular, what I convey - I
am able to explore the many
avenues of existence.
I divide my time between
Bangalore - India, Stockport -
England and California in the
U.S.
My latest paintings are more
abstract than others and
question the idea of life
itself, reincarnation and the
future of this planet.
