Artist Statement:
My fascination with the Analytical Psychology and Hermetic Philosophy is manifested in most recent paintings and drawings. The concept of my art may be linked, via illogical iconography to existential individual subconscious. Notions of chance and automatism are given full expression in my abstract paintings and automatic gestured drawings, in which line no longer serves to describe shape or enclose form, but exists as an autonomous event, charting the movements of the color (paintings) or pencil (drawings).
My artwork itself has a visual power that is virtually unmatched by any possible description of it. One cannot really hope to understand it, or even visualize it without experiencing it firsthand.

| Your Personal Biography |
The life style and work of Miran Kre¹ (1973) explores themes of the mind, body, and spirit with an emphasis upon postmodernistic cultural identity and existential personal experience. He studied Educational Fine Art at the University of Ljubljana. In 1998 he graduated from abstract painting. He spent the following years in Ljubljana and traveling throughout Europe and North Africa. In year 2000 together with the group of ten Slovenian artist he participate in conceptual art exhibition Das Project Gauguin in Institut für Kunstgeschichte in Graz. Theory of Postmodernistic Simulacrum and analytical psychology influenced the development of his art from 1999 to 2001. He went to New York where he attained the contemporary views and reflections in multimedia art. Miran’s works often focus on the marginal existential social codes and towards the construction of a self within a cultural, historical, and social space. From 2002 to 2003 he lived in Amsterdam where the central, though not exclusive theme of Kres's work has been an exploration of mortality and alchemy, a controversial subject that Kres has updated and extended with wit, verve, originality and force.
His paintings are also represented in both corporate and private collections.
