Artist Statement for Milton Loupe

Art has always been the documentation of life. Man has the opportunity to juxtpose both nature and the political. Jacob Lawrence and Diego Rivera both stated that if Art is not Revolutionary it is not Art. I have been recording nature, illusions and political statements for the past twenty years. Being an artist from the Los Angeles area I have had the opportunity to witness many changes. I truly believe the the artist responsibility is to record. I have been blessed to become acquainted with jusic and therefore become creative on the surfaces of drums through carving.
Whether one is a visual, literary, dqancer, and or actor one must depict the times in which we are living. I will end in a creative insert by Willa Cather (1876-1947). Artistic growth, is more than it is anything else, a refining the sense of truthfulness. The stupid believe that to be truthful is easy; only the artist, the great artist, knows how difficult it is.
