Artist Statement:
Joan Carrera is originally
native artist
and works in his studio
situated in Moià
a small historical town near
Barcelona,
in the Mediterranean area.
This city considered as one of
the world
capitals of design and art
source, it is
also the inspiration for many
artist of
international prestige.
Joan is auto-didactic sculptor
and have
been working in steel for over
35 years,
his original work is a unique
handmade
piece in elegant rounded
forms, made with
iron plate hand-embedded,
welded and
polished by abrasives.
Although he woudn´t want to
give a concretely
vision, but it is certainly
that he try
to get a global it.
The Joan sculptures suggest a
special charm,
that is got with gleams of
light. and
these reach port a smooth and
lightness
look in his work.
Hundreds of evocative
sculptures some drawn
from nature, some from
contemporary life have
been commissioned by private
owners, and
business people, who
appreciate this unique
artistry and know they have
something,
which will last for
generations and grow in
value.
His endless ideas and
creativity, are formed
on the quality of his work.
