Artist Statement for Monique Hazé
|
|
|
Having had a long fascination with the arts, I took a few watercolour classes while living and working in Montreal. Since my arrival in Victoria in June 1995, I have attended a few workshops and am now mainly working in acrylics, collage and mixed media.
Colour, movement, energy and life are the elements that inspire me and which I attempt to express in a free and expressionistic form.
Several of my paintings have found permanent homes in Victoria, Montreal, Toronto and New York.
Since moving to Victoria, I have exhibited each year with the Victoria Sketch Club, Sooke Fine Arts 96, SPAC and Goward House since 2000, Art at Airport 200l and 2002, Solo Exhibition at the Ministry of Health 2001, Look 2002, Sidney Fine Arts Juried Show 2003, Cadboro Studio Tour 2004, 2nd Annual Sidney Fine Arts Juried Show 2004.
