Artist Statement:
Painting animals and scenery with a generous dash of color and light, Donna Ridgway creates art in her Vaughn, Mt studio. A self taught artist, Donna uses complementary color schemes, coupled with a play of light against dark, to create an element of drama in her work. Coming from a family that homesteaded on the Rocky Mountain Front, her ranch life background influences her choice of subjects. Her enthusiasm for her work spurs her on to create many paintings each year. ...

| Your Personal Biography |
I was born and raised in Montana, to a family that homesteaded on the Rocky Mountain Front. I've lived in Montana my entire life (to this point) and plan to stay here forever.
I paint what I see and love around me, horses on the prairie, colorful mountains, and Montana wildlife.
My work is taking me places I wouldn't have dreamed of going. My paintings have been invited to attend the Cow Palace Celebration of Western Art, 2008, in San Francisco.
In 2007 I was invited to show at the History Museum, April show, Great Falls, Mt.
Rocking Horse exhibited with a member show, World Wide Women Artists, in New Port Richie, Florida.
2007 my painting, The Battle of the Sexes won Best of show, pastel division at the Montana State Fair art show.
I exhibited my work at the History Museum, with Studio 706 art guild at the Charlie Russell show, Great Falls, Mt in 2006 and 2007.
Montana Moon, won a second place award at the Carriage Factory Gallery, Small and Miniature art exhibit, Newton, KS, 2007.
CAPS Nevada Auction used my paintings for their advertising campaign in 2006.
I was invited to attend the Red Cross show, Montana Artists on Display 2003 and 2004 where I took part in a quick draw. Butte, Mt.
Silver's World and Grandpa's Boots were accepted into the Western States Horse Expo, 2002.
Heart and Soul, won a first place award, at the Equine Art Guild, international show, 2001.
My work has been published in Horse's in Art magazine, The Creative Spotlight, the Lake County Leader, and the Montana Arts Council newsletter.
I'm a member of the Equine Art Guild, the Canine Art Guild, World Wide Women Artists, and Studio 706 Artist's Guild. I participate in several member shows each year, online and locally. You can also find my work at the gun shows, in Great Falls, Mt. several times a year.
