Artist Statement:
Posing the question what is real and what is a dream?--my paintings combine a delicate balance of human-made environments, natural elements and atmospheric conditions. I use these motifs in design, thought and metaphor within a central theme and other underlying themes, linking all of the works together as if they were part of one large image. This process continues to inform my work, manifesting itself in the exploration of social, economic and religious values, drawing viewers into a place they might already be a part of---or could possibly be.

The paintings of Morton Wendt Tucker, Jr. have been exhibited in solo and group shows in museums, galleries and cultural centers in the United States, including the 2006 Biennial: Contemporary American Realism at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and the National Small Works Exhibition sponsored by the Schoharie County Arts Council in Cobleskill, New York. His was included in the "New Aquisitions" exhibition at the Brauer Museum of Art in Valparaiso, Indiana in 2008.
In addition, Tucker's paintings are in private, public and corporate collections, including those of the Fort Wayne Museum of Art in Fort Wayne, Indiana; ...
