Artist Statement:
Can the most basic, automatic
marks uncover significant
emotional experience? This is
what my work examines and
dissects.
Conceptual ideas are explored
through complex color
relationships. Irregular
shapes emerge from delicate
lines. Narratives are born
from competing color harmonies
and contours. Surface textures
relegate shapes into isolation
or prominance. Mixed-media
such as ribbon, pencil
shavings, and thread
intermingle with paint.
Altogether these abstract
paintings are a
thought-provoking evolution of
painted emotional response --
a pure embodiment of authentic
abstraction....
