Artist Statement:
Experimentation with
materials, subject ideas, and
design helps to keep my mind
engaged after five decades of
drawing and painting. At the
age of twelve, I began
classical lessons in painting
and continued learning through
college and recent seminars.
The study of modern dance
choreography and movement
increased my awareness of
innovative design Observations
of people intensified when I
traveled to and lived in other
countries. I studied the
varied developmental learning
theories, and evaluated them
while watching my growing
sons. A career in high school
and college teaching
emphasized creative
development. All of these
varied involvements with ideas
eventually led to an
interdisciplinary Ph. D. in
Fine Arts degree, and
influenced my painting,
writing, teaching, and
consulting, as well as my
life. My work today continues
to explore new ideas, but the
design presentation always
depends on abstract
underpinnings.

Many solo or two person exhibits including those in Taos at the Taos Fine Art Gallery and the Milagro Gallery. Exhibits in Taos,NM with the Taos National Society of Watercolorists at the Taos Art Museum, the Taos Historic Museums, and the Millicent Rogers Museum. Work selected for numerous regional and national juried exhibitions including the 2004 "Of Time and Place Exhibition"- Taos Historic Museums (Donor's Award), the 2004 and 2005 Taos National Exhibitions of American Watercolor at the Taos Art Museum, the 2003 Taos National Watercolor Honors Exhibition II at the Martinez Hacienda. International exhibitions with the International Association of Acrylic Painters (NAPA). Exhibiting collections include Tandy corporation, the Taos Art Museum, and Red River Historical Museum. Studio selected for "Originals" Tour of the New Mexico Division of National Museum of Women in Arts, and the Friends of the Mint Museum artists' home tour.
