Artist Statement:
A Glimpse of Two Worlds
Every individual derives joy from different sources. Major part of people’s lives gets wasted in searching as to what will give them joy – I consider myself fortunate as I realized it relatively early in life – It gives me immense pleasure to present my Paintings before you.
Under the title of “A Glimpse of Two worlds” I am presenting two series of my painting (i) an endless search (ii) Ladakh. Apparently these two appear entirely different from each other in terms of subject, forms, mood, compositions etc. However, as an artist, I know that inspite of the apparent disjunction they are connected at a very deep level – as both represent my inner experiences.
In our conscious and subconscious mind, a plethora of thoughts and ideas appear we can only experience them – we cannot see them – I struggle to see them – I attempt to visualise my thoughts. Some are closer to my heart – Some of these are good – some very dark – some sacred and some rebellious. In addition to thoughts and ideas, there are also some dreams desires – aspirations. Some of these have been fulfilled – some may get fulfilled in due course of time and I...
