Artist Statement:
I was raised in NJ and had a 10 year career as a psychiatrist before discovering photography. I received an MFA from the University of Delaware in 2000. For 2003 and 2008 I have been granted Individual Artist Fellowships by the Delaware Division of the Arts.
I have several ongoing projects. One is photographs of amusement parks, started with a regular camera, but recently working with a pinhole camera. Some of each are available at www.nancybreslin.com/rides.html . Exhibition of these works: Mezzanine Gallery, Wilmington, Delaware, March 2008.
Since 2003 I have been photographing all of my restaurant meals with a pinhole camera, creating "A Pinhole Diary of Eating Out." Hundreds of these can be seen at www.fotolog.com/squaremeals. Exhibitions of this series: Arlington Arts Center (2005), St. Joseph's University (2006), San Antonio College (2008).
