Artist Statement:
Gary L. Nichols, a native
Texan, has strived to capture
his native state and the
surrounding area on canvass.
In addition, his travels have
been chronicled in these vivid
oil presentations.
Compared to turn of the
century Texas artists, his
unique combination or
impressionism and realism
incorporates detail created by
color variations, and
tremendous depth utilizing a
multitude of brushstroke and
knife styles.
Emerging into the arts scene
in 1995 after twelve years of
experimentation, this
self-taught artist continues
to exhibit via galleries, art
festivals, private events, and
the internet....
