Artist Statement:
I have been expressing my views through art all my life. I studied art in high school and in college, but it was not until six years ago that I started exclusively working in watercolors. My artwork has been displayed at shows in Colorado and on the East Coast. Most of my paintings are a reflection of my own experiences in life. I lived in Boulder, Colorado for ten years. The influence the mountains have had on me is obvious in my artwork. I also lived on Cape Cod, in Massachusetts. Sunsets over the water on Cape Cod have been a beautiful inspiration to me. I am a professional musician living in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire. I play guitar, saxophone, and clarinet. I have produced three LP's and use art and music to express my creativity and earn a living....

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I had a natural inclination to create artwork. My family and friends pursued their own artistic direction, so they influenced my interest in the subject. |

| Your Personal Biography |
I was always encouraged by those around me to pursue creativity thru art. My grandmother was an art teacher in Meriden, CT so supplies were always available. The encouragement was probably an attempt at diverting me from troublesome activities, and generally it worked. I never let poor grades in art class discourage me from continuing with artistic activities, because I realized I earned those bad grades by disregarding the assignment or misbehaving during class. In my youth, I used art as an outlet to express unrealistic ideas, something the general public could not necessarily relate to. After completing a B.A. at the University of Colorado in Boulder, I renewed my pursuit for creating artwork. Watercolor has become my medium of choice, because of its workability, but my art doesn’t always have the traditional appearance of works from that medium. |
