Artist’s Statement
Joy Kocmoud
Driven by lust for knowledge,
and desire for interpretation,
my unpredictable maelstroms of
rotated repetition entice the
viewer through an intricate
elemental flow.
By abstracting the fluidity of
the feminine form, mystery is
reintroduced to the familiar.
Bold, bright, and versatile,
this eccentric style
translates well to any media.
Utilizing my extensive,
eclectic photo archive, I’m
able to derive seductive
imagery that engages the eyes,
the mind, and the psyche.
Each viewer follows the lines
differently, varying their
eye’s path in each visual
caress. Color flows through
the seemingly chaotic
patterns, running and blending
at will.
My hands are my best tools,
and diverse experiences with
adversity deeply enrich my
work.
