Artist Statement:
Art is the link that binds peoples and shares concepts and emotions without words. It is a means of telling a story, exploring hidden recesses, opening and cleansing wounds, helping others to understand our culture and thought processes, educating where words can be misconstrued, learning to feel what others may feel and much more. This is true of all the arts, whether they be visual or performing, conceptual constructs or recognizable realities.
It is my hope that my works, which all have a tendancy toward the didactic, will speak of my hopes that humanity can and will grow to adulthood and learn patience, compassion, honesty, the understanding that humans are merely one of many life forms sharing this planet, and the only one that can improve or destroy it all. Conscience and awareness together share the most important places beneath the surface materials used to create the works I am now doing in unseemly haste, as though I feel I may be lacking in time to explore all I long to see and do on paper and other media.
I bid you welcome and hope that what I do may touch you and bring you joy and the warmth of ...

Biviades, a Bevaix Festival Weekend, September 13, 2008 - September 14, 2008
City: Bevaix Country: Switzerland
The Biviades is a multi-activity festival. I am both coordinator and exhibitor in a group exhibition in the village gallery, the "Tri-na-niole," that is to include two exhibition rooms plus a multi-media installation of my creation.
The theme for one room is "From Genesis to Apocalype:" all works will be in pairs; the second room will be a potpourri of various styles and media. The installation is based on a text I wrote and will include both improvised, original music and dance, pre-recorded by Objectif Réussir, an association that trains and helps reintegrate the unemployed. The film is available during the 2 festival days.

The Bar King, a cozy little jazz bar close to the funicular at the edge of the pedestrian area of the city of Neuchâtel, invites artists to exhibit for a month to a month and a half so the décor is constantly refreshed. The atmosphere changes with each new artist.
The bar is open all day, daily, and in the evenings musicians play in the bar or in a larger room behind the bar area that was pre...
Grâce à vous / Thanks to you, January 7, 2008 - February 29, 2008
City: Bevaix Country: Switzerland
Group show of nearly all new artists in various media, including raku sculpture, photography, oil and watercolor paintings, collages, India inks, etc.
My works were all India inks or Ink washes combined with textile paints and metallic powders and paints. Group exhibits mean few but carefully created works that stand out - mine were social critique and commentary on the spate of fires and hypocritical political manoeuvrs and their consequences (3).
Au-delà des mots : Motus/Beyond words, keep silence, September 6, 2007 - October 31, 2007
City: Bevaix Country: Switzerland
Group exhibition (4 artists) using art works to illustrate poetry (and vice versa).
I presented a very long poem which I hope to publish in 2008 entitled Psalter of the Seasons, which is a female vision and response to Leaves of Grass, but centered around the Massachusetts region called the Berkshires. Each stanza had an illustration, most of which were in a round shape to show my love for the region that birthed me.
RETRO-introspective, May 03, 07 - May 31, 07
City: Bevaix Country: Switzerland

First large works done in Switzerland on my part, including new techniques with raised surfaces and textures and metallic paints and powders, as well as collages.
Femme, qui es-tu? /Woman who are you?, January 5, 2006 - February 28, 2006
City: Bevaix Country: Switzerland

My works included found object sculptures and several paintings using mixed media and techniques, including collage, etc.
A Fleur de Peau/Skin Deep, November 7, 2005 - December 31, 2005
City: Bevaix Country: Switzerland
Solo exhibition using flowers as a theme to dig into areas of emotional difficulty (family, friends, lovers, self-acknowledgement, etc.)
Flowers can say anything, including being stiffled, solitary, deserted, loved, hated, overly protected, etc.
Rêves/Dreams, March 2, 2005 - April 30, 2005
City: Bevaix Country: Switzerland
Group inaugural exhibition for the Galerie Quint-Essences in the old but totally renovated train station.
Works by artists who also work in Objectif Reussir (Lyse, Patrick, César, Joel...), a Street Rag by the unemployed, as well as my works on the theme of Dreams.
Ventures in Space, January 1, 1980 - December 23, 1988
City: Westfield, Massachusetts Country: United States of America
As the owner of the gallery I exhibited my works on a permanent basis, changing and updating works every two months.
The gallery was a performing and fine arts gallery open 6 days a week. A collaborative effort, approximately 30 artists exhibited, performed or offered classes on a regular basis. Most of my works were macramé sculptures, collages, acrylics, mixed media or watercolors that often illustrated my poetry.
