[ HIRAM WILLIAMS is appreciated as a gifted and perceptive teacher with a firm and fluent knowledge of the history of Western Art - a knowledge which he could communicate. He was an innovative and masterful draftsman and painter and a warm and engaging person ]; John Ward - Italian Renaissance Art History; Jerry Uelsmann - photography; DRAWING: Stuart Purser and Nate Shiner [Nathan Ruiz].

I am U.S. Navy Vietnam era veteran [Jan.1968- Nov.1971]. I was on AIRCRAFT CARRIERS.

I have been living in the towns and mountains of western North Carolina since 1988. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA, where I studied architecture in 1965-67, and fine arts in 1972-75.
I worked as a volunteer for the SOUTHERN APPALACHIAN BIODIVERSITY PROJECT.
I began painting in oils 35 YEARS ago. I have lived without a television since 1965.
