Artist Statement:
I was born in 1978 in İsparta/Turkey
I graduated from Anadolu University, Fine Arts Faculty, Ceramics Department Eskisehir/TURKEY in 2001.
Graduated from Anadolu University, Social Sciences İnstitute,Ceramics Master Program Eskisehir/TURKEY in 2004
Worked as a research assistant in Afyon Kocatepe University Fine arts Faculty Ceramics Department, Afyon/ Turkey in 2002-2004
I still work as an instructor in Çankaya University Fine Arts Section Ankara/Turkey
I have participated in several group exhibitions including some national competition exhibitions. I won the first prize in one of the important national art competitions ‘2. T.R.T. Painting and Ceramics Competition in 2003.Ihave participated in many group shows. I had 4 solo exhibitions in different cities in my country.
My works are made of wheel thrown red and white clay body, glazed and fired at 10400C. I was inspired by the mother earth goddess figurines. Now my figurines are turning into women but they are still fat or pregnant because they are symbolizing fertility of a woman, as goddess figurines do thousand years ago.
