Artist Statement:
After college I became too analytical and too serious. Every feeling I had became sterilized with words and explained away with logic. I could not act on impulse and I would not allow myself to become "caught up" in my emotions.
Carving has allowed me to reconnect with my emotions. I often do not plan what I carve because that would be too restrictive. I just pick up my chisel and carve what I feel....
