Artist Statement:
Far away from archaic fascinations of meaning; beyond the boundaries of language, there is a “black breeze” that hints at forms of tiny myths and wakes. The true human rebellion must rid itself of ideologies and hope. Then, the crowd on the streets will not cry out but merely whisper all of their demands. A rebellion of wanderers.
After resigning from my political beliefs a few years ago, the possibility of a radical romanticism has become appealing to me. Therefore, the works are seemingly wrapped with political and historical concerns, but as soon as that very first skin is peeled off, the promise of meaning vanishes. The viewer then confronts something else, difficult to point out: mood. The work states a paradox in between meaning and mood. Meaning, which comfortably lives within the limits of language, while mood, suspends interpretation and simultaneously intrigues to sensibility.
As part of that strategy, there is a process of unveiling or hiding in my work. It points out the fragility of gaze, and curiosity itself. Very often, the work is revealing just the final result of a complex process that is not shown, exposing naked walls in which rubble turns into another being and ...
