Florida born and raised. Artistically, I am adventuring on a new path. One that is exciting and challenging at the same time. The uncertainty can be a bit unnerving at times; however the bigger picture keeps me going. Perseverance and a charming “nothing can keep me down for long” attitude make for a great and exciting future in art.
I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. I am a self-taught artist. I began painting portraits with pastels when I was 16. I later experimented with acrylic paints and found this was the medium for me. I have been on an artistic journey over the last couple of years. Portraits were the beginning. Soon I found an interest in decorative art, murals and faux painting. I will always love painting murals. Recently having switched genres, I have been moving in the direction of painting several series. One of which is of landscapes. I experiment with paint effects, some texture and color, or lack there of. I find a certain peace in painting in black and white, and also in sepia. I have incorporated iridescent, metallic and pearlescent paints into my current painting series. ***
I have shown in “The Lake Mary/ Heathrow Art Festival” and “Maitland Art Show”. In the fall of 2003 I was accepted into the “DeLand Art Museum and Cultural Center” for their juried Biennial. I have a one-man show coming up at the “DeBary Manor” in January 2005. I am a member of the DeBary Art League and DeLand Art Museum. Member of NMWA and OVAL.
