Alexey Parygin, born on December 2, 1964, in Saint-Petersburg, Russian Federation.
Is a representative of the last wave of Russian underground, which made itself known at the second half of 1980-s. Known as a painter (oil paint, mosaic, mural painting). Also works on easel and small graphic arts (collage, watercolor, gouache); printmaking; book art (artist's books, illustration); graphic design.
Works in such a frontier fields of visual arts as non-functional object, installation, performance.
His main object of study and experiment is a Sign like a communicative component of modern society.
Governmental grant in the field of fine arts (1998).
Organizer and participant of “Union ¹ 0” art-group (1986-1989, Leningrad) and creative squat-studio “Nevsky 25” (1987-1990, Leningrad); member of Artists Union of Russia (Saint-Petersburg), Member of society watercolor artists (Saint-Petersburg), member of Art Critics and Art Historians Association (AIS).
A passionate collector of original prints.
Works and lives in Saint-Petersburg, Russian Federation.
