Artist Statement for Jean And June Pastore

Sisters Jean & June Pastore hold certificates in Art and Technology, however are virtually self taught in the field of Art Glass.

During their careers, Jean & June have developed and perfected their skills in mixed media, and are reknown for creating emotive paintings and murals in glass, using their own colouring techniques on sheets of glass.

Jean & June have a unique and challenging interpretation of their art. Each piece of glass is individually cut, shaped and coloured before findings its place in an inspirational creation, guaranteed to be a conversation piece.

In every piece there is a strong emphasis on colour and tonal values. Glass is cut to varying shapes and sizes creating a unique and elaborate picture, with colour and shading resembling painted brushstrokes.

Jean & June have been commissioned by many local, interstate and overseas clientelle. They also create illustrations for books and other commercial applications.
