Artist Statement:
"Painting is a way of life.
Some people do art for the fun
of it while others do art
because they must. I am in the
last group. I must create! I
see painting possibilities
everywhere I go. I love to
paint landscapes with big sky,
open fields and distant
mountains and hills. At the
same time I must become one
with the scene. Living in
Southern Oregon allows me
ample opportunity to view
beauty close up!"
Art and Painting have been a
life-long learning experience.
I consider myself a student of
life and learn most by
observation and
experimentation in art.
Although I have worked in many
art mediums watercolor
painting, to me, is a fluid
expression of life as I see
and experience it. The
transference of my
observations to a pure white
sheet of Arches watercolor
paper makes for a satisfying
experience in the exciting
world around me especially
when I can keep the light!
Landscapes are my passion! I
paint en plein aire or from
photographs I have taken or
from compositions. I enjoy
painting trees, mountains,
sky, water and the reflections
in water. I also enjoy
painting buildings with
special character.
