Artist Statement:
After completing High School I
was called up to do my
compulsary military training
for 2 years.When this was done
I found employment as a visual
merchandiser for a couple of
years at a chain of
depatmental stores.I then went
freelance and specialised in
ladies fashion and this lasted
another few years.I then got
involved with garden
landscaping that resulted in
my own landscape bussiness for
the next few years until 1988
when I attended an art coarse
with a leading Artist in South
Afica at the time.This was
life changing for me.From my
earliest recolections I have
always been drawing and
painting and I knew this is
what I am supposed to do.IN
1999 I closed my landscaping
bussinss and I have been
painting ever scince.I tend to
paint in series and prefer to
spend a lot of time with each
painting I create.I try as
best I can to be in my Studio
every day from Monday trough
to Friday for an average of
about 5-8 hours.Somehow there
is alays something that needs
doing.For me the most
important thing is getting
started once you begin working

Welcome to Ivan Trollip's Portfolio.
